Who would ever guess we could do an outdoor engagement shoot a week before Christmas in Missouri?? Ashley and Kevin are from Iowa and were planning to be in Kansas City one weekend in December for a Chiefs game, so we decided to get their engagements done while they were here. I was really worried about weather and thinking we would either be facing bitter cold or snow or both. Amazingly enough, the temps that day were great and we got some awesome photos! I can't wait until Ashley and Kevin's wedding this summer!

Sonya and Lonnie: Married!

Sonya and Lonnie's wedding just had to be one of the hottest days yet this year. I think the temps were hovering around 100 degrees and humidity was through the roof! Everyone was such a trooper and did their best to deal with sweltering heat. Although, one bridesmaid did get a little faint at the end of the ceremony, a pair of groomsmen saved the day and assisted her. After some cool air and water, she was back in action for the reception! Despite the heat, downtown Parkville and Piropos Restaurant provided some wonderful backdrops and everyone seemed to have a wonderful day!

Rebecca and Heath: Married!

After over a year of planning, Rebecca and Heath's big day came off without a hitch! I've really enjoyed every minute of working with them. From my initial meeting with Rebecca and her adorable mom, Marcy, to having lunch with Rebecca and Heath, their engagement session and finally the wedding. Rebecca is one of those people who is always smiling and happy, I can't imagine she ever gets upset! Heath is exactly the same way, which is why they are a perfect match. And what a gorgeous day for their quaint, outdoor wedding! I will truly enjoy watching this couple start their lives together and can't wait to see where it takes them! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Shipley!!

James and Jennifer: Married!

What a fabulous couple! James and Jennifer have been together since high school and planning on getting married for several years, just hadn't set a date. Once James enlisted in the military, they finally set the date! And not only did they set the date, they didn't have much time before he was off to boot camp! They planned the wedding in less than two months time, talk about hectic! Despite the tight timeline, the wedding turned out beautiful! Club 1000 was a gorgeous venue and the weather for the day was amazing. The photos at sunset on the roof were the perfect end to the perfect day! Oh, and check out the last shot of some of the wedding party (including the bride) smoking cigars...I sacrificed by getting ashes dropped on me for that one!
