Ok, better late than never! I'm still trying to catch up on the blog postings and realized I never posted the photos from this wedding in August. Probably one of my top 5 all time favorite weddings, despite the terrible weather that day. I never dreamed rain would be the obstacle after a record drought all summer and crazy heat we had for months. Diana and I jumped in the car and headed to Des Moines and once the rain started, it didn't seem like it would stop. Luckily, we had a gorgeous country club for the reception venue. As soon as I saw the staircase, I knew the photo I wanted to get and it turned out to be one of my favorites. Also ended up with the coolest ring shot I've ever gotten, not to mention an incredibly beautiful first look with Ashley's dad that had Diana and I both in tears. Ashley and Kevin are such a wonderful couple and it was easy to see the connection between them. Congrats to you both, thanks for sharing your special day with us!!
Despite my GPS leading me to the wrong location at first, I made it to Heather and Jerry's venue and they had a beautiful July wedding! Heather's dress was absolutely gorgeous and she was a stunning bride! And my favorite part of the cermony was the flower girl sitting on the floor and playing with first the rose petals, then her dress. So cute!

Andrea and Hussein had an intimate and very pretty wedding last month near Jefferson City. The church was gorgeous! And even better, I will actually get the opportunity to do two wedding ceremonies for this lovely couple, a first for me! This was the Catholic ceremony, and in a couple of months there will be a Muslim ceremony as well. This is when I knew I liked Andrea, I asked which date they would use to celebrate their anniversary each year. Her response? "Both!" Atta girl!!
Terri and Dave had a beautiful wedding at Unity Village last month. I love getting to do weddings for couples that are so obviously in love and amazingly happy! Best wishes for a lifetime of happiness!!
A few photos from Kerry and Daniel's recent wedding at Lone Summit Ranch, one of my favorite venues. Being a June wedding, I was prepared for this to be a hot and humid day. However, we ended up blessed with some of the most perfect weather at a wedding yet! It was an absolutely beautiful day!
Some photos from Kristen and Caleb's adorable wedding. This ended up being one of the hottest days of the year so far. We weren't outside more than 5 minutes before we were soaked. Everyone was a good sport and tolerated the heat so we could get some fabulous photos!
Love, love, love this couple! The bride is adorable and just too sweet for words, the groom is absolutely smitten over her, the wedding party is gorgeous, the colors were beautiful, perfect weather, fabulous ceremony light, a maid of honor toast that got me crying, details that belong on Pinterest, the list goes on and on. I had such a hard time narrowing down my favorites, I gave up and resigned to a huge list of images. Congratulations Abby and Wade and thank you for allowing me to capture such a beautiful day!
Gwen and Ben had a gorgeous April wedding at one of my favorite venues, Lone Summit Ranch. We all watched the weather for days before and the forecast showed no chance of rain! So we were more than a little surprised when we had to delay photos due to rain before the ceremony! Gwen was a trooper and didn't stress about it at all (or she hid it really well!). Thankfully, the rain didn't last long and we were able to make it outside for all the photos! Roberta helped me for the first time at this wedding and it was a blast working with her. She had two great ideas that helped make the day...the location of the first look and the wedding party tug of war shot. Gwen and Ben were such a joy to work with through the planning process, but I'm looking forward to seeing them as a happily married couple!
Ashley and Phil had a beautiful wedding day planned in St. Charles, Missouri. I was really excited to shoot this event because I knew there would be some great outdoor spots in St. Charles. However, the week leading up to their wedding was nothing but rain every day. And the closer we got to the event, the rain for their wedding day stayed in the forecast. So, I came up with a contingency plan for indoor locations and was disappointed we would likely be rained out. Then amazingly enough, at all the times we had photos planned, the rain stopped! Every single time we had in the schedule to be outdoors taking photos, it was dry! And just look at the gorgeous photos we were able to capture!

First thing I noticed right from the start with Sarah was that she and her mom have an amazing bond. It was even more apparent on Sarah's wedding day. Her mom was a mix of being happy for daughter and being heartbroken her baby was grown up. It was so touching. Sarah and Kris are simply crazy about each other and are a perfect match. The entire wedding party seemed to have a bond and was blast to work with. It was a beautiful fall day which topped it all off!
